The Dock Apron Is The First Part Of A Floor To Fail
Everything that enters your building crosses the same two metres of epoxy flooring. Forklift wheels turn on it under load, pallets get dropped on it, and in this city it spends five months a year wet with brine, meltwater and winter sand carried in on truck tires.

Grip Matters More Here Than Anywhere Else
Wet epoxy flooring on a ramp or a dock apron is a slip risk for people and a traction problem for equipment. Aggregate goes into the top coat at a level set against the slope and how wet the surface gets.
The level is a judgement call rather than a default. Too little and the ramp is slick in February, too much and it is difficult to sweep and hard on wheels. We set it against how the dock is used and how it is cleaned.
Detailing Around Levellers, Edges And Drains
A dock leveller pit has edges, and edges are where epoxy flooring lifts. The system is carried into and around the pit properly rather than stopped at a line that will chip under the plate.
The same applies at the dock edge itself, at bollards and door tracks, and at any drain in the apron. Those details are the difference between a dock floor that lasts and one that starts peeling at the joints in its second winter.
Freeze-Thaw At The Door Line
